Today, the Fonda-Fultonville Middle School, and its students and faculty, teamed up to celebrate and recognize the importance of World Kindness Day. For the second consecutive year, the district hosted multiple events in the middle school to foster collaboration between students and spread the importance of kindness in the school community.
“We continue to work with our faculty and staff to share the importance of having a kind, welcoming school community here at FFMS,” said FFMS Principal Mr. Zadoorian. “Each year, our staff collaborates with our students to find new ways to support and show empathy in the school community. The emphasis on support and empathy comes from our belief that you never know what another person, student, family, or co-worker is going through and how important these acts of kindness and empathy can be to our community. Throughout the year we will continue to highlight and instill the Brave Traits of Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Citizenship and Perseverance in each of our students at the middle school.”
In addition, as part of the collaboration on this day, students were greeted in the morning with encouraging quotes and reminders of kindness on their lockers, will sharing their ‘act of kindness’ to a banner that will be displayed in the middle school. Middle school students will also wear blue to show unity, and students will be offering blue ribbons for $1.00 to raise support for a locally-based charity.
