FFCS athletic teams receive NYSPHSAA recognition

For the third year, the Fonda-Fultonville High School athletic program has been recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) as a School of Excellence. According to its website, to earn the School of Excellence Award, 75% of a school’s varsity teams must qualify and receive the Scholar-Athlete Team award. To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90.00. To view the complete NYSPHSAA announcement, click here.

“At FFCS, we are proud of our student-athletes for setting high academic standards for themselves,” said Superintendent of Schools Thomas Ciaccio. “Balancing the demands of athletics and academics is not an easy task, but our student-athletes have proven they have the work ethic to be successful at both.”
