Middle school to increase in-person classes for grades 7-8

Beginning Monday, Nov. 9, 7th and 8th grade students in the hybrid learning plan will begin a revised school schedule. Students will continue to rotate in-person and remote learning, but the number of in-person days is increased. Students in grades 7-8 will continue to attend school in-person for one full week every month. Additionally, students will attend school on a rotating cycle that includes three consecutive days of in-person learning alternating with remote instructional days.

This schedule is based on grade and homeroom. Parents should check their emails with information about their child’s assigned group and in-person schedule. Parents who did not receive the email should contact the middle school office at 518-853-4747 to update their contact information.

The groups are:

  • 7A: This group includes seventh grade students whose current homeroom teachers are Ms. Trevett and Mrs. Linart.
  • 7B: This group includes seventh grade students whose current homeroom teachers are Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Mulyca.
  • 8A: This group includes eighth grade students whose current homeroom teachers are Mrs. Sanges and Mrs. Heacock.
  • 8B: This group includes eighth grade students whose current homeroom teachers are Mr. Vunk and Ms. Bell.

The schedule will continue for the remainder of the calendar year, unless further changes are announced. A schedule is available below according to assigned groups.

The district is able to increase in-person school days for seventh and eighth graders in the ongoing review of district operations since reopening. After reviewing the average number of students on buses, there are enough seats available each day to safely include more middle school students.
