This year’s bowling squad placed third in the WAC competition and came in second for the WAC tournament. The team was led by first-team all-stars Tomek Kowalczyk (194 average) and Ian Smith (190 average). Mr. Kowalczyk also secured the highest series in the WAC tournament. Excellent season, bowlers!

Girls’ Basketball

The girls’ basketball team had an up-and-down season regular season. They competed hard and finished the regular season 7-13, playing nine games against state-ranked teams. It was an aggressive non-league schedule that helped F-F prepare for sectionals. This year, they were seeded #10 in the Class B sectionals and faced Cobleskill in round one. Our team avenged a regular season loss to them to move on to the sectional quarterfinals.

During section quarterfinals, they again played a team they lost to during the regular season, but the girls locked in and focused on the game plan and were able to knock off #2 seed Greenville to head to the sectional semis. The girls were able to play at HVCC for their sectional semifinal game, but fell to #3 seed Mechanicville, 42-40, in a great game. We had a team of mostly seniors this year, starting the year with ten seniors and three juniors. Kieonna Christmas had an amazing season and earned a ton of recognition throughout the season. She had a quintuple-double against Bishop Gibbons earlier this year that received a ton of attention late in the season from MaxPreps, ESPN, and Overtime.

This Winter season our Varsity cheerleaders were very busy! The girls did an amazing job bringing the spirit to every basketball game they could attend, cheering on the boys and girls. We had a tremendous amount of success this competition season also, as they competed for the first time in many years! They came in 1st and 2nd places in different competitions and even got to attend sectionals for the first time. What an amazing season they had on and off the mat and they finished the season strong! Shout out to our Seniors Gabriella Martineau for making First All-Star team and Carina Hayes for Making Second All-Star team!
