Districtwide initiative shows appreciation to local healthcare workers

FFCS undertook a districtwide initiative to show appreciation to local healthcare workers who are supporting the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students in the elementary school made handmade cards that were distributed to the public health department, St. Mary’s Healthcare and Nathan Littauer Hospital. One of the cards says it best: “Thank you for being there when we needed you the most.”

Our third graders made a video to show appreciation for the people who are working together to keep the community safe.

Faculty and staff made donations to purchase lunch for the Fonda Primary/Specialty Care Center and the Montgomery County Public Health Department.

“It is a small gesture from our district to thank all of the men and women that continue to be on the front lines in helping our community navigate through this time,” teacher Deborah Oertel said. She coordinates “Dress Down” days weekly for the district, and the funds are donated to various causes throughout the year. “I am sure that it will be greatly appreciated and it is a wonderful way to let these men and women know that we recognize all that they do.”
