Hybrid/remote learning updates for grades 9-12

FFCSD High School Semester Two

Hybrid Learning Model

Revised Hybrid Learning Alpha Groups (2 groups)

In an effort to address a change to the number of Semester 2 hybrid learning students, we will be transitioning from three to two alphabetical student groups beginning Monday, February 1st, 2021.  The groups will remain the same through the end of the school year and referenced as “Group 1” and “Group 2”.  Each group will attend two days of in-person instruction, followed by two days of remote instruction. This rotation continues for the remainder of the year (or until further notice).

Below you will find the updated alpha group breakdown, as well as the group rotation calendar for February.  Monthly rotation schedules will continue to be highlighted on the district’s homepage so families can easily check who is expected to report for in-person or remote learning on any given day. You can also view student schedules in a monthly calendar view.

Remote-Only Learning

All students/families that have signed up for Semester 2 Remote Only Learning will receive all educational instruction remotely starting Monday, February 1st, 2021. For many of you, this model is already in progress.  As explained in previous district communications, our intent is to continue providing as much structure and normalcy as possible to the school day. All teaching staff and students will follow their daily period-by-period course schedules as has been facilitated since September, 2020.  As a reminder, the school day begins at 7:45 am and ends at 2:29 p.m. All students are expected to login to their homeroom by 8 a.m. for attendance. Attendance will continue to be taken period-by-period throughout the course of the day. As always, consistent attendance greatly impacts course grades.

Teachers will continue to provide live instruction to each of their class periods throughout the day. All contacts and assignments will be coordinated and accessed through Google Classroom. Teachers will assign students activities/lessons to complete in Google Classroom. Live learning will continue as students move remotely through their daily schedule period-by-period.  Individual virtual contacts with each teacher can be scheduled as needed.

Students are not responsible for logging into any study halls or lunches on their schedules. They may use that time as they see fit with the expectation that they will login to their next scheduled class.

Please contact the HS Office or your student’s School Counselor with any questions.
