801 Food & Nutrition Core

This course is designed to help students apply nutrition knowledge to everyday living, and to develop skills in menu planning, food purchasing, preparation and service in the basic areas of the food guide pyramid. Students will also explore careers and employment opportunities in the food and nutrition field.

803 International Foods

Pre-Req; Food and Nutrition. This course will emphasize on exploring cultures through their food traditions. Students will participate in the kitchen lab creating on various group projects, exploring traditional foods in various cultures, and practicing standards of food preparation, and safety.

805 Gourmet Foods

Credit: .5

Pre-Req: Food and Nutrition. This course will emphasize catering, food presentation, and advanced foods. The student will explore standards of food preparation, mealtime efficiency, and how to make money with your cooking talents. The students will learn safety during food preparation and storage of prepared foods.
