The Fonda-Fultonville Jr. FFA Chapter wrapped up the school year and launched into summer with an exciting lineup of activities that showcased leadership, teamwork, and agricultural education.
On the last day of school, the chapter hosted its inaugural Middle School Ag Olympics in partnership with the National Junior Honor Society’s Carnival.
Students in grades 5–8 competed by homeroom, with each team creating spirited SWAG inspired by their homeroom teacher’s college colors and mascot.
Teams rotated through six agriculture-themed events: Cow Patty Hoppers, Tater Tot Trot, Farmer Joe Overalls, Pasture Paddle Race, Lasso Legends, and Tractor Shop Scramble. Competition was divided into two divisions, with grades 5–6 and grades 7–8 competing separately before the top teams advanced to the championship round.
Mrs. Teresco’s and Mrs. Hayes-Bowles’ homerooms earned spots in the Championship Showdown: The Corn Cob Classic, where they battled for the 2026 Ag Olympics Championship Trophy. After an exciting final event, Mrs. Teresco’s homeroom claimed the title of the first-ever Ag Olympics Champions. The event was filled with laughter, school spirit, and friendly competition, making it a memorable way to celebrate the end of the school year.
The chapter’s newly installed 2026–2027 Jr. FFA Officer Team also dedicated time this summer to preparing for the year ahead. Officers participated in a three-day leadership training, logging more than 10 hours of professional development. Throughout the training, members strengthened their teamwork through collaborative activities, explored what it means to lead both their officer team and the chapter, learned the responsibilities of their individual officer positions, and began developing the chapter’s Program of Activities (POA). Together, they planned and proposed events they hope to bring to the chapter during the upcoming school year.
Continuing their summer of growth, members also attended Week 2 of the FFA camp program. During the six-day camp, students built lasting friendships with FFA members from across the state, strengthened their leadership abilities, and participated in hands-on experiences that will benefit them for years to come.
The Fonda-Fultonville Jr. FFA Chapter is looking forward to another outstanding year filled with leadership, service, agricultural education, and member success. The chapter is excited to welcome students back this fall and see all that its members will accomplish during the 2026–2027 school year.
