On February 17, FFMS staff dedicated their day to sharing positive outreach, while offering informative sessions with students during its ‘A Day without Hate’ celebration. This engaging learning process also connects the students with the FFMS ‘No Place for Hate’ campaign and allows the students to gain empathy for those facing considerable strain in their home, community or day-to-day lives. Students are able to host conversations and work to problem solve opportunities for positive results.

“We continue to work with our faculty and staff to share the importance of having a kinder and gentler school community here at FFMS,” said FFMS Principal Mr. Zadoorian. “By building these programs and having real-time conversations with our students, we continue to establish the ideals we want to convey in today’s classroom. This effort also highlights the Brave Traits principles that we continue to follow within our school campus: Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Citizenship and Perseverance.”

Various topic were discussed throughout the day ranging from poverty and discrimination to understanding the impact of words and creating positive environments for those with disabilities. Each class delved into areas that are typically experienced in everyday life. A significant highlight to remember was FFMS students understanding the importance of listening and comprehending the point of view of others, as no one’s journey is the same.

A great example of teamwork and classroom instruction aimed at highlighting positive actions within our school building!
