FFHS Key Club Receives New York District Poster Award 

The Fonda-Fultonville High School Key Club was awarded second place in the Digital Poster Contest at the New York District Key Club Leadership Training Conference held on March 25 – March 27, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany. You can view the poster here. Key Clubs from across New York State participated at this conference. The Digital Poster was designed and created by the Fonda Fultonville High School Key Club’s Webmaster/Editor Kaylee Freeman. 

The Fonda-Fultonville High School Key Club was also awarded the Completed Paperwork Award which is given to the Club Secretary for submitting Monthly Report Forms on time each month.  The report contains information about the Key Club’s service projects performed and club meetings. Fonda-Fultonvlle High School Key Club Secretary Jordan Chatwin met this criteria. 

During a ceremony at the New York District Key Club Leadership Training Conference, the Outgoing Divisional Lieutenant Governors were retired upon completing a year of service.  Division 17 Lieutenant Governor Bridget Will was retired at this ceremony upon completing a very successful year in this official position. Bridget is a member of the Fonda-Fultonville High  School Key Club. 

The projects and activities undertaken by the Key Club provide learning experiences outside of the classroom and encourages students to become involved in their school and community. 

During this school year, the Fonda-Fultonville High School Key Club performed several service projects. The members painted 28 pumpkins for the residents of the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in October. Also during October, the Key Club members raked and cleaned the historic section of the Village of Fonda Cemetery. 

Additional service projects were conducted for the Montgomery County nursing homes and senior residential facilities. These projects included 33 handmade Veterans Day cards given to the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, 89 handmade Valentine’s Day cards for the Palatine Bridge Nursing  Home and Arkell Assisted Living Home in Canajoharie and 84 handmade Christmas ornaments were given to the Capstone Nursing Home. 

In addition,  the Key Club helped families at Thanksgiving and at Christmas with meals and gifts.  

The Fonda-Fultonville High School Key Club is a service organization for high school students and is sponsored by the Gloversville-Johnstown Kiwanis Club.
