FFCS voters approve $34 million budget

Voters of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District approved a $34.0 million budget for the 2024-25 school year, with 184 in favor and 45 opposed – a margin of 80%. All propositions listed in this year’s proposed budget were passed. The approved budget maintains all programs, staff, and services for the 2024-25 school year.

Under the proposal, spending would increase by 2.53% from the current year. The proposed budget carries a 2.9% tax levy increase which is below the district’s assigned tax levy “cap” of 3.82%. Budget approval requires a simple majority of votes (50% plus one).

“We are fortunate to have a community that values education and supports the staff, programs and services that enable our students to be successful,” said Superintendent of Schools Mr. Ciaccio.

In addition, district voters reelected Dennis Egelston (151 votes) and Michelle Isabella (162 votes) to new three-year terms, effective July 1, 2024. Adam Sullivan received the final Board of Education seat with 161 votes.
