FFCS announces Class of 2022 Top 10

The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District is proud to announce the Top Ten for the Class of 2022. This list of students have performed and contributed to our school community in many ways. We hope you take some time to review their achievements and wish them well on their future endeavors.

Each year, the top four graduates will give speeches at the annual high school commencement ceremony in June.

“We are proud to feature this year’s Top Ten and recognize their hard work and dedication,” Fonda-Fultonville High School Principal Aaron Grady said. “As with many of our students, the current Top Ten have made the most of their time at FFHS. As they embark on a new endeavor, I want to wish them the best of luck and continue to take their experiences at Fonda-Fultonville to wherever they may go.

Shey Sanges

Shey Sanges, daughter of Paul and Shelley Sanges, will be proudly graduating with the Class of 2022 and has been accepted to attend Hamilton College to study psychology and Spanish (as a double major concentration) in the fall. Ms. Sanges is the number one ranked student in the Class of 2022. Ms. Sanges has an extensive list of contributions during her time at Fonda-Fultonville High School. She has played an integral role from student leadership to fundraising for special causes within our school community. She has been a member of the student government since her freshman year, been a key contributor of the Yellow Roses throughout her high school career and has been an active participant in school band and chorus, being highlighted in numerous All-County recognitions.

In addition, Ms. Sanges has been a founding member of the Outdoor Club and has been instrumental in community-based outreach, with participation in the following organizations/committee: Key Club, Relay for Life, Sunflower Shoppe, Fonda-Fultonville Community Foundation amongst many others.

Kimberlee Snell

Ms. Snell, daughter of Ronald Snell and Stacey Butler, has been a contributor — both athletically and in the classroom — during her time at Fonda-Fultonville High School. From cross country to indoor track and field to achievements ranging from chorus and band to National Honor Society – she has brought her best effort during her time at Fonda-Fultonville. In the fall, she will take her talents to the State University at Buffalo. She has been incredibly supportive of district-based programs/groups to make our community stronger. She played a key role as a member of the Key Club, and through hard work and dedication, was named the 2021 Section II Pentathlon Champion. By delivering inside the classroom with the highest cumulative GPA in her sophomore and junior years, she has proven her merits throughout high school and we are excited for what holds for her in the future! Well done.

Bridget K. Will

Ms. Will, daughter of Mark and Charlotte Will, is headed to Syracuse University to attend the prestigious Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She has exhibited strong educational success by being named to the National Honor Society during her junior and senior years. Beyond her achievements in the classroom, Ms. Will has been active in Concert Band, Select Chorus, Key Club, Theatrical Club and Student Government. In 2021, she received the Girl Scout Gold Award and the Clarkson University Achievement Award. She has also been a familiar name on the high school’s Principal’s List, being named every quarter since her freshman year. She’s also a key contributor in a number of community-based organizations accumulating approx. 300 hours of community service while in high school.

Evelyn Yun

Ms. Yun, daughter of Elizabeth Yun, is ranked fourth in this year’s graduating class. She will be attending Quinnipiac University in the fall. Ms. Yun has displayed a strong ability to blend her classroom achievements with her additional contributions to our high school. She is a constant presence on the Fonda-Fultonville High School indoor/outdoor track teams and the district’s cross country team. In addition to her classroom and extracurricular success, she is also employed by DomAdi’s Deli in Amsterdam, N.Y. She is also a contributor to community events, such as the Relay for Life Walk, Key Club and has tutored elementary students in Spanish since her freshman year. Best of luck at Quinnipiac!

Kaylee Freeman

Kaylee Freeman, daughter of Todd and Monica Freeman, will be continuing her educational pursuits at the University of New Haven in the fall. She’s ranked fifth in this year’s graduating class and is currently the Class of 2022 class secretary. While not in school, she’s an employee for Market 32 in Amsterdam. She counts a number of clubs and activities to her school-based resume and is a featured coach for the Odyssey of the Mind teams for the high school. She’s also a trusted member of the Outdoor Club, Level Up and the Yellow Roses. She has been a constant member of the Principal’s List since 2018 and was recognized for the highest overall average during her junior year. In 2021, she was recognized with the George Eastman Leaders Award.

Garrett Neff

Meet Garrett Neff. Mr. Neff, son of Andrew and Sara Neff, will be taking his talents to the University of Virginia (UVA) in the fall. Currently ranked sixth in his class, Mr. Neff has exhibited a strong presence as both a student and in the school community. From 2020 to present, he has been a volunteer in the Fonda-Fultonville community contributing to assisting local community members with small chores and additional needs. HE has been named to the National Honor Society for the past two years and has been a strong voice in student government. In his sophomore year, he was named FFCS John J. Furman Award for excellence in football and academics. In 2022, he was awarded the National Army ROTC Scholarship to the University of Virginia, University of New Hampshire and the State University at Buffalo. For each school, he was awarded a full scholarship with the opportunity to be commissioned after graduation in the United States Army.

Hailie Downing

Hailie Downing, daughter of JD and Stacey Downing, is currently ranked seventh in this year’s graduating class and is headed to the State University at Cobleskill in the fall. She has epitomized school spirit and supporting student-athletes throughout her time at FFCS. She has been a formidable presence on both the football and basketball cheerleading squads since her freshman year. She has also had a community-based focus on helping others by participating in student government, Key Club and additional service groups aimed at helping students and the Fonda-Fultonville community. MS. Dowling has also been on the Principal’s list each of her years at FFHS, even brandishing the highest GPA of her freshman class.

“Having support from others is great, but at the end of the day nothing is more valuable than your belief in yourself.” 

Marissa Thompson

Marissa Thompson, daughter of Sean and Holly Thompson, has been accepted into Franklin and Marshall College in the fall. She has been an active member of the Yellow Roses, the district’s yearbook club and has been a steady member of the National Honor Society. Her list of achievements at FFHS include the following: Sage College Student Sage Award, Bravestrong Award, FFHS Student of Distinction, along with receiving a nomination for Phi Theta Kappa and Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

“I have loved my teachers here at FFCS. I truly couldn’t have been as successful without them. I definitely will use what I have learned from them to help me in my future endeavors.”

Molly Kowalczyk

Molly Kowalczyk, daughter of Rodney and Susan Kowalczyk, will be attending the Rochester Institute of Technology for the fall semester. She will be majoring in American Sign Language Interpreting with a minor in biology. She’s seeking to become an ASL medical interpreter. She has represented her district as both a student-athlete and as a contributor to a number of school-based organizations, such as the Yellow Roses and Library Club. She has received award commendations for achieving the highest average in Pre-Calculus award, while also receiving the Rochester Institute of Technology Computing Medal.

Zenmatsu Myles

Zenmatsu Myles, son of William Myles, will be attending Saint John Fisher College in Rochester, NY in the fall. He has been an active member in the FFHS community as a student-athlete participating in the district’s football, wrestling and baseball teams. He has also been a key member of student government and the win and jazz ensembles. As a student-athlete, he has been recognized as ‘Leader by Example’ for the wrestling team, ‘Best Newcomer’ for baseball and first-team all-star for football – among other notable achievements.

“The scale goes 1 to 10, 10 being the greatest. Special thanks go out to the gym, cafeteria, and friends that gave me food.”
