As an alum of the Class of 2004, Mr. Romano is no stranger to FFCS. He was a teacher at the elementary school for eight years before working as an administrator at the Greater Amsterdam School District for four years. He has also overseen the Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES summer school program since 2018 and served as an English as New Language adult educator for six years. He lives in Fultonville with his wife and their two children, and serves as a volunteer fireman in his free time.

Mr. Romano looks forward to returning to FFCS to further the district’s mission of academic excellence and to build relationships with families, faculty and staff.

“Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with families is an area that I pride myself in,” Mr. Romano said. “I believe that family engagement in a child’s school experience can have a tremendous impact on their success. I will work hard to welcome all parents and caregivers into the school community by providing opportunities for them to participate in their student’s education, discuss concerns and welcome input when making decisions that impact their student’s educational pathway. These relationships are key to a tight-knit, successful community.”

“Our elementary staff and families deserve a leader who will create a sense of community, be approachable and always remain student-centered,” Superintendent of Schools Thomas Ciaccio said. “Mr. Romano is 100% invested in Fonda-Fultonville and brings invaluable insight as an experienced elementary principal. We are excited to welcome Mr. Romano back to the FFCS family.”

Superintendent Ciaccio and the district leadership team will work with Mr. Romano to ensure a seamless transition during the summer months. There will be opportunities during the next school year to meet Mr. Romano that will be announced in the future.
