On Wednesday, Dec. 18, the FFCSD Board of Education appointed Mr. Mark Batty as the interim principal for the middle school. Mr. Batty will assume this role throughout the 2024-25 school year. Mr. Batty will lead day-to-day building operations, curriculum and staff oversight, and student engagement. He will fully assume his new role at Fonda-Fultonville Middle School on January 2, 2025.
“As a district, we are pleased to have Mr. Batty join our administrative team and school community,” said Dr. DeMallie. “His experience and knowledge will be a welcome addition to our campus, and we look forward to his leadership as we begin the new year.”
Mr. Batty retired from the Gloversville Enlarged School District as their middle school principal in June 2021. He served them in that capacity for six years. Before that role, he was the assistant principal of the high school for five years. Most recently, he has filled interim positions in the Greater Amsterdam School District as the middle school principal and last year as the assistant principal in the high school.
In addition, Mr. Roberts, who has assumed the role of interim principal, will return to his previous role as the assistant principal for the middle and high school buildings beginning Thursday, Jan. 2. He will continue to play an important role in day-to-day building oversight and student interactions in both buildings.
