During the weekend of March 28-30, the FF Theatrical Co. will perform their featured Spring 2025 musical production, “Aladdin Jr.,” based on the 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show. A big part of that production will be senior Christopher Cimmino. He takes on the lead role of Aladdin Jr. in this year’s production, and its importance is not lost on him. He has been involved in productions since he was six years old at Family Foothills at SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College and has been a cast member in FFCS productions since he was in seventh grade.
During rehearsal and day-to-day classes, we finally caught up with Mr. Cimmino to learn more about this year’s musical, and how he’s excited to go out with a final bow.
Last year, what did this year’s production mean to you?
In terms of this year’s production, we’re hitting a new level. Now it’s my year to step into this leadership role to carry on the tradition. It’s a new experience being a senior in the biggest role and carrying that leadership for our younger students.
What are your thoughts on the musical production Aladdin Jr.?
So, in the past few years, we have done a lot of fundraising to put on a production of this level. Aladdin Jr. is one of those big entertainment staples of the year. I’m able to step into a production in a larger role. On top of that, it’s a great way to be featured in a role tailor-made for me, which is amazing.
What are your plans after FFCS?
I’m looking forward to enjoying my senior year. After FFCS, I plan on enrolling at Fulton Montgomery Community College to obtain my associate’s degree in business. I’ll then transfer to SUNY Buffalo to pursue my bachelor’s degree. I’m interested in stock trading and finance, so I will be working towards an internship in hopes of landing at Goldman Sachs or Credit Suisse. I’m eager to see the options available to open a real estate business. My main goal is to be happy with what I’m doing and to have the money to be comfortable and help others.
