On Monday, June 30, the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District Board of Education appointed Ms. Erica Wardell as the new principal of Fonda-Fultonville Middle School. Ms. Wardell brings over 14 years of experience in education, with a strong background in instructional leadership, student engagement, and school-community partnerships. In addition, Ms. Wardell brings a deep commitment to student success, equity, and academic excellence.
Before her appointment to FFCSD, Ms. Wardell began her career as a middle school visual arts teacher, building a strong instructional foundation and an understanding of adolescent learners. She later served as Assistant Principal at Schenectady High School, supporting students across the STEM and Visual & Performing Arts pathways. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Director of Fine Arts, leading professional development and supporting district-wide curriculum planning and enrichment programming.
In her role as principal at FFCS, Ms. Wardell will lead day-to-day building operations, curriculum and staff oversight, and student engagement. She will fully assume her new position at Fonda-Fultonville Middle School on July 28, 2025.

I do not doubt that her educational leadership background, coupled with her military experience, will have an immediate positive impact on our students and staff.”
Ms. Wardell holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration from The College of Saint Rose and School District Leadership certification from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She is dedicated to fostering a positive school culture where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to achieve. Outside of school, Ms. Wardell enjoys gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.
