Fonda-Fultonville Central School District is offering optional damage coverage for 1:1 student devices that will help to cover costs associated with damage to these devices. Enrolling in the Chromebook coverage plan can help give you peace of mind in the event your child’s Chromebook, charging cable and/or protective case are damaged.
The coverage plan is $25 and covers two damage claims over the course of four years. Families who receive reduced-price meals can sign up for this coverage at a reduced rate of $10. Families who receive free meals can be enrolled in this coverage at no cost.
If you choose to participate in the coverage plan, you will not be charged if your child’s Chromebook is damaged and requires repairs twice over the course of the next four years.
FFCS is offering this coverage plan because students are responsible for taking care of their district-issued Chromebooks. In the event the Chromebook, AC adapter (charging cable), and/or protective carrying case are damaged or lost, fees will be assessed. In order to make these fees predictable, the district has developed the following fee schedule:
Cost without coverage |
Cost with coverage |
|
---|---|---|
First damage claim | $30 | No Charge |
Second damage claim | $50 | No Charge |
Third and subsequent damage claims | $100 | $100 |
Theft, Loss, or Damaged beyond repair due to negligence | Total cost of device: $300 | Total cost of device: $300 |
Charger Lost | $30 | $30 |
