FFCSD elementary ranks in ‘Top 10’ in Capital Region

The Fonda-Fultonville Elementary School is listed as one of the ‘Top 10’ elementary schools in the Capital Region! Recently, the U.S. News & World Report released its 2026 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings, and the district’s elementary school ranks #10 in this year’s report. As part of its research, U.S. News & World Report reviews approximately 47,000 public elementary schools and 23,000 middle schools throughout the nation. You can view the full report here.

“This is an incredible honor,” shared Superintendent of Schools Dr. Richard DeMallie. “Day in and day out, our teachers and students continue to work hard in the classroom, and the results are evident in their commitment to learning. Our elementary school does a wonderful job of supporting our students to become stronger learners and delivers a welcoming and safe environment for students to be their best.”

The publication reviews several categories in its selection process, which primarily relies on yearly assessment scores. Additional educational items reviewed are student backgrounds and student-to-teacher ratios.

“The 2026 Best Elementary and Middle Schools rankings highlight institutions that excel in fostering student achievement and providing exceptional learning environments for all,” said LaMont Jones, Ed.D., managing editor for Education at U.S. News. “These rankings offer communities and families valuable insights into schools dedicated to preparing students for future success.”
