FFCS voters approve $36.1 million budget

Voters of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District approved a $36.1 million budget for the 2025-26 school year, with 273 in favor and 85 opposed – a margin of 76%.

The $36,137,055 budget for the 2025-26 school year carries a 2.71% tax levy increase, within the district’s assigned tax levy “cap” of 2.92%. A simple majority of voters (50% plus one) was needed to pass the budget. The budget includes adding an Academic Intervention Services teaching position to support English Language Arts and mathematics in grades K-12, supporting operations staffing, and a change to funding for the Summer Bridge program.

“Our district appreciates our community’s support in building a strong education curriculum that allows our students to succeed in the classroom,” said Dr. DeMallie. “With the community’s support of this budget, the district can continue to offer opportunities for our students while providing them with instructional resources and commitment in the classroom.”

Three members were elected to the Board of Education: Jessica Munson with 201 votes, Bonnie Couture with 201 votes, and Brooke Cuddy with 166 votes.
