Eighth-grade students to transition to new schedule for 2025-26 school year

Beginning this school year, eighth-grade students will transition to an independent classroom schedule, closely aligning with the model used in grades 9–12. Traditionally, our eighth graders have followed a team-based schedule, moving together from one class to the next. This change marks an exciting step forward in preparing students for high school and beyond.

Why This Change?
This updated scheduling format offers several key benefits:

Fosters Independence and Responsibility
Students will experience a greater level of independence and trust, helping them build the habits and confidence needed for a successful transition to high school.

Enhanced Academic Support
The new schedule allows for more targeted support and services within each subject area, better meeting students’ individual academic needs.

Enriched Campus Experience
By moving independently between classes, students will become more familiar with the campus environment, further developing their self-management skills.

Looking Ahead

We recognize that transitioning to this new format will take time and adjustment for students, staff, and families. However, we are confident that the impact will be a positive one, supporting students on their academic and developmental journey toward high school.

As always, we remain committed to providing high-quality instruction and engaging learning environments through the efforts of our dedicated teachers and staff.

Students schedules will be shared later this week. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this transition, please don’t hesitate to contact the middle school’s main office.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
