On Wednesday, December 10, the Fonda-Fultonville CSD announced the cancellation of the evening performance of the Elementary Holiday Concert, which was scheduled for the week of December 15-19. The district took great measures to ensure the performance went on as scheduled, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it could not proceed.
We ask that our families understand this decision was not made lightly, and every avenue to continue with the concert was considered. It is important to note the cancellation is not related to song selection or school safety issues as some in the community have alleged. As a district, we want to provide every opportunity to all our children and families. It is with great sadness that this decision had to be made, but again it is due to circumstances out of our control that can not be disclosed.
At FFCSD, we take great care to ensure a welcoming environment for all our students and make it a priority to listen to our families.
The morning performance will remain as scheduled and recorded for families, friends, and community members. The recorded performance will be shared with our school community on Wednesday, December 17.
We apologize for any disruptions this may have caused to students, families, and staff. We encourage all of our families to view the recorded concert on Dec. 17. We hope you enjoy the hard work of our students as they share their performance with the school community.
