Fifth graders Aubrey Rose and Reba Chesebro represented Fonda-Fultonville in NYSATA’s annual Legislative Exhibit at the NYS Capitol in Albany. They attended the reception for the show on March 6 with their families.

According to NYSATA’s website, this student art exhibit is held in the Legislative Office Building each spring, providing an exciting opportunity for students and their families to connect with their legislators. Legislators from across the state are invited to recognize the artistic accomplishments of their aspiring artist constituents at a reception for students, parents and teachers. Rose and Chesebro talked about their artwork during the reception with state Sen. George Amedore.

The reception concludes with an interactive and inspiring ceremony. Each student entrant receives a certificate and a copy of the Legislative Student Art Exhibit brochure.

“Selecting Reba and Aubrey for this show was the last thing I did before I retired,” former Fonda-Fultonville Elementary School art teacher Kathleen Hallam-Bushek said. “I am so proud of them both. They deserve the recognition.”
