Senior parade is rescheduled

We are very happy to announce that the Braves March Parade is back on! We want to thank our county officials, especially Executive Matt Ossenfort, for understanding the importance of these events for our seniors, and allowing this to occur as long as we follow all guidelines. Please read the following statement from Executive Ossenfort that outlines these guidelines:

The parade will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. Line-up will begin at 5 p.m. at the Fonda Fairgrounds. The parade will include a procession directly to the FFCS parking lot, where our PK-12 staff will be there in attendance to cheer on our seniors from their vehicles. Then the procession will continue back to the fairgrounds.

We have also found a way to ensure that you, as parents, can cheer on your child during the parade. We want to thank Rich Kennedy and the board of the Montgomery County Agricultural Society, for allowing all parents to park their cars inside the fairgrounds facing the back of the grandstands. As the parade returns to the fairgrounds, the procession will drive in front of all the parents so you can cheer for the seniors as the parade continues to the end of the road.

We appreciate the patience of our seniors and their families as we know this has been an emotional time. However, we are confident that as we conduct these activities to recognize our seniors, it will become one of the most memorable moments in their lives.

If your child does not have a vehicle they can ride in to be a part of the parade, please contact the HS office at 518-853-3182 to ensure we can find a way for them to participate in this event.
