Child Abuse | Policy 7530

The Superintendent of Schools is responsible for ensuring that teachers, administrators and other professional employees of the district receive regular training and are knowledgeable about their duties as mandated reporters as stipulated in the Child Abuse and Neglect Act of 1973.

Any teacher, administrator or other professional employee in the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District who has reasonable cause to suspect that a pupil has been abused or maltreated, shall make an immediate report to either the principal or the designated school administrator.

The respective principal or designated school administrator shall investigate the report and, in accordance with the provisions of the Child Abuse and Neglect Act of 1973 and the administrative procedures supporting this policy, ensure that appropriate reporting and protective actions are taken.
