Judges needed for FFA contest at FFCS

The Fonda-Fultonville FFA is recruiting volunteers to judge the District 5 FFA event on Saturday, Feb. 1 beginning at 9 a.m.

The district FFA events are much like a “sectional” competition, where middle and high school students from more than 15 FFA chapters will compete in various contests. More than 150 FFA competitors are expected.

“As the hosts of this exciting event, we would like to encourage as many local community members to volunteer as judges,” Fonda-Fultonville FFA adviser Sheri Boardman said. “We need over 50 judges to make this day a success for our students.”

Boardman said experience in agriculture isn’t necessary.

“It is okay if you are unfamiliar with various agricultural topics, because a lot of the judging is based on verbal and non-verbal rubrics,” Boardman said. “This could be a great opportunity for you to learn more about what the national FFA organization has to offer our students.”

If you are interested, please consider filling out the Google Form to sign-up as a judge, and please feel free to share the link and help spread the word.
