Jazz Ensemble II performs for local senior citizens group

The high school Jazz Ensemble II performed for the Glen Mohawk Senior Citizens at the Fonda Reformed Church on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The performance kicked off the FFCS Music Department’s annual winter concert series.

Superintendent Thomas Ciaccio brought the ensemble with him for one of his regular visits to the group. Principal Aaron Grady also joined them. Ciaccio meets with the local senior groups regularly to update them about FFCS students’ academic achievements, and to invite them to upcoming events. He will also bring a music group with him to his meeting with the Tribes Hill Senior Citizens this spring.

“We feel honored to have them here to play for us,” Glen Mohawk group member Lu Wilmot said.

The ensemble performed three songs under the direction of band teacher Charles Lenig.
