First graders show bravery during poster presentations

Imagine being just six or seven years old and having the guts to stand up in front of your classmates to give a presentation. The first grade students in Rachel Hicks’ class recently did, all without breaking a sweat. They learned about nonfiction books, read one on a topic of choice, created posters and presented them to their peers to share what they learned. They practiced their literacy, communication and public speaking skills, learned interesting facts and showed bravery by standing before their class.
