Fonda-Fultonville fifth graders shared their love of writing on social media as part of the National Day on Writing held on Friday, Oct. 20.

Teachers Ann Mahon, Sam Stead and Tammy Berberich coordinated a variety of writing activities as part of the event, which is sponsored annually by the National Council of Teachers of English. The organization celebrates the importance, joy, and evolution of writing on Oct. 20 every year through a tweetup, using the hashtag #WhyIWrite and events hosted by thousands of educators across the country.

“It was a chance for us to provide some creative writing opportunities across genres, which we don’t get to do very often,” Berberich said.
