Coffee talk: Students serve law enforcement officials during class project

A student holds a money box and makes change for a policeman in front of a coffee cart

The Life Skills class welcomed members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police for a quick pit stop to FFCS on Tuesday, Oct. 2, serving them coffee and muffins. Students in the Life Skills class operate a weekly Coffee Cart program so they can practice math and money management while developing their communication and interpersonal skills. Special thanks to school board member Sgt. Michael Lewis, Inv. Karla Swartz, Deputy Tom Flickinger, Deputy Jeff McBroom, Trooper Matt Wheeler and Trooper Pete Brundage for giving our students this special experience!
