It will be the policy of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District to utilize a weighting system when ranking high school students beginning with the Class of 2005. Starting with the 2004-2005 school year, the same system will be used to calculate class rank and grade point average (GPA) for students grades 9 through 12. The administration will be charged with developing regulations for the implementation of this policy.
Course Weighting System
Beginning with the 2004-2005 school year, the following course weighting system will be used when ranking high school students:
a) Level I (High School Classes)
1.00 (wt.) x final course average = wt. avg.
Example: 1.00 (wt.) x 90 (fin. avg.) = 90 (wt. avg.)
b) Level II (College Level i.e., Advanced Placement, Early Admissions)
1.025 (wt.) x final course average = wt. avg.
Example: 1.025 (wt.) x 90 (fin. avg.) = 92.3 (wt. avg.)
Honor graduates will be determined by rank to be calculated at the end of the first semester of the senior year.
The students with the top four (4) ranks will be designated as Honor graduates and will speak at graduation.
