Compensation and Expense | Policy 2330

In general, Board members are not entitled to receive compensation. They may, however, receive reimbursement for expenses actually and necessarily incurred in the performance of their official duties.

A Board member who also serves as school district clerk or treasurer may receive a salary for his or her services. In addition, advances of moneys for estimated expenditures for attendance at conferences, conventions, and workshops are authorized by the General Municipal Law, subject to documentation and refund as appropriate.
