Duties of President of Board of Education | Policy 1321

The president of the Board of Education presides at meetings of the Board. The president signs documents authorized by the Board and enforces the laws, rules and regulations governing the Board of Education. The president also appoints special committees and representatives to meetings where Board participation is desired. The president calls special meetings when he or she deems it advisable, and when requested by any Board member. He or she performs all duties assigned that office by the Board bylaws, policies, and resolutions. The president has the same right as other members to offer resolutions, to discuss questions, and to vote.
