Board of Education Authority | Policy 1120

All powers of the Board of Education are exercised through actions taken as a corporate body. Individual members exercise their authority over district affairs only as they vote to take action at a legal meeting of the Board. In some instances the President of the Board or other members may be empowered to act on behalf of the Board. This delegation of authority may only occur by a majority vote of the Board. The Board shall make its members, the district staff and the public aware that only the Board as a corporate body has the authority to take official action.
