Six Fonda-Fultonville high schoolers and their teacher Sheri Boardman represented Fonda-Fultonville at the 90th annual FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis Oct. 25-28.
Students Hailey Briggs, Hannah Wozniak, Katie Joyce, Jen Keehan, Abby Chicoski and Rhyana Simonds joined Boardman at the convention, which is described as a celebration of the accomplishments of FFA members, teachers and the industry of agriculture. It draws participation from 63,000 members and guests from across the country. Students participate in general sessions, competitive events, educational tours, leadership workshops, an expo, volunteer activities and more. It is one of the largest annual student conventions in the world.
“It has been great for them to interact with college representatives and industry leaders, as they are preparing to apply to college and choose a career path,” Boardman said of her students.
