The project blended English language arts and elements of computer science as students learned about plot, characters, setting, algorithms and ozocodes at the same.
Students learned about sawmill operation, safety practices, arboriculture and wood product marketing, team-building and leadership skills.
The experience was made possible during seventh grade social studies teacher Holly Thompson’s classes on April 4, featuring educators from the Fort Ticonderoga historic attraction.
Fonda-Fultonville Elementary School has been recognized by a research group for increasing the achievement of economically-disadvantaged students.
