Sixth graders in Kari Callery’s English class recently went to Marci Carey’s first grade class to work as writing partners. The sixth graders had written autobiographies that they shared with the first graders, who were learning about writing how-to pieces.

The groups decorated the residents’ Christmas trees, decorated about 200 Christmas cookies and sang Christmas carols.
Their teacher says it’s helped them get excited about their studies.
Demitraszek is one of just 20 students from New York State to earn a nomination.
The high school Skype Club recently participated in a video chat session with Chittagong Grammar Secondary School in Dhaka.
