       The Caughnawagan

Welcome

Hello and Welcome to the Caughnawagan!

Over the last several years the Journalism class has tried to improve not only the quality of our FFCS yearbook, the Caughnawagan, but we have also tried to increase the use of available technology to update the look and production methods used to create the annual edition.

Because the production of this yearbook involves the hard work, dedication, and cooperation of not only our class but a large number of other people as well, I wanted to let you know what you could expect as you consider a staff position with us.

First and foremost you will be expected to be a person of your word. You may not have all the answers or skills necessary to carry out a particular task when you first arrive but you will be asked to give 100% of your effort on any task you say you will complete.

Deadlines in the production business are critical and must be met. We will have a minimum of six major deadlines that must be met without fail. Assistance is always available to those who ask and if you find yourself struggling with time management, be able to ask for help.

Constructive criticism is a way of life when you join any business as an employee. You will be asked to give and accept constructive criticism throughout our year together. This important skill will only help to improve the product we will be working to create.

Teamwork is the key. There are many aspects of business and production that will be requiring everyone to eliminate obstacles we may face and solve any problems that may arise. Being able to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves and being able to do it together will encourage growth in the academics we will cover, skill areas you will experience, and in your own sense of accomplishment.

I welcome any questions you may have and would encourage you to seek out members of the current Journalism class to get the inside scoop. I think you will find that although this is a very important decision on your part, you stand to gain much more than you could ever lose.

Tell us a little bit about yourself by completing the linked application form. Be sure to submit the application to me before the deadline. Yes, this is your first deadline. We will arrange a follow-up interview for specific positions in the near future. Please feel free to come see me or email any questions or concerns you may have.

I will look forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Barbara Barker
