Voters approved the $22.3 million district budget proposal Tuesday night, along with the $2.5 million requisition to authorize emergency repairs to the Fonda-Fultonville Elementary School. Voters also approved a proposition to allocate $12,000 to the Frothingham Free Library and $3,800 to the Fort Hunter Free Library.

Two incumbents, Timothy Wendell and John Wiltey were re-elected to the Board of Education, as were newcomers Matthew Calkins and Mark Blanchard. Blanchard, a write-in candidate, will complete the term of Timothy Coons who recently moved out of the district.

The $22.3 million budget was approved by more than 150 votes, with 395 in favor, and 241 against.

The bond proposition received the 60 percent supermajority vote that was needed for approval, with 376 voting for, and 248 voting against the proposal.

The library proposition, which approved more than $15,000 in funding for the two local libraries, passed by more than 300 votes, with 467 voting for and 165 voting against it.
