8th Grade Art Accelerated Program:  Offered every other day for 2 semesters (40 weeks).

   This is an advanced placement program for the student who accels in the area of art and is capable of making decisions and choices required of the creative process.  This program   covers the first half of 9th Grade Studio Art while in 8th Grade.  Students will cover all the material offered at the regular 8th Grade level plus more!!!   In addition, students will continue to apply their knowledge of the Elements of Design and Color Theory to a variety of Art History/Multi-Cultural related projects.  Students will also focus on the period of Abstract Expressionism and visit the Empire State Plaza Abstract Expressionism Art Collection in Albany, NY.   Students will be required to complete weekly sketch book assignments, written assignments, and take a written Mid- Term as well as a Final Exam at the end of the semester.
