Photo of Shane and Principal HalloranSpecial flag thanks Fonda-Fultonville teachers and staff

Fonda-Fultonville Central School proudly accepted a very special American Flag and accompanying certificate from FFCS alumnus U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William Smith. Lt. Col. Smith is the father of FFCS junior Shane Smith.

With the flag came a handwritten note that recognized the principals, teachers and staff for "all you have done for Shane and the students at Fonda-Fultonville Central School."

The flag flew on February 1, 2009 during a Special Operations Combat Mission in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. February 1 marked the day after Iraq's landmark national elections.

The flag and certificate will be displayed in the high school trophy case.
