Nethaway
signs with UAlbany
In a brief ceremony on Friday, November 14th,
Fonda-Fultonville senior Josh Nethaway signed a letter of intent
to play baseball with the SUNY Albany Great Danes.
A standout athlete and scholar, Joshmade the
commitment flanked by his mother and father, MaryJo and Tom
Nethaway, F-F High School Principal David Halloran, F-F Baseball
Coach Rick Palumbo, and F-F
Athletic Director Alex Mancini.
Josh has been a familiar face to Braves fans
over the past four years. He has been the starting catcher for
the baseball team since his freshman year and has started
varsity basketball and football for three years. He earned
All-State honors in baseball and was just named Capital 9 News'
Class C Football Player of the Year.
"Fonda-Fultonville School has been really good
to me," he said after the signing his letter. "My fellow
students are courteous. The coaching is excellent and my
teammates are like family; they're my best friends."
Mr. Mancini praised Josh saying, "He is a model
school athlete; a three-sport athlete and an outstanding
student. He is the whole package. He is a great role model for
younger players."
Nethaway selected Dunkin' Donuts Player of the Week
Add another honor to Josh's list of accomplishments. He was
selected Channel 13's Dunkin' Donuts Player of the Week
on January 6th. Josh has been more than football, basketball,
and baseball standout, he is a role model for other athletes who
want to excel. Josh signed a letter of intent to attend SUNY
Albany and play baseball this fall.
