Nethaway signs with UAlbany

In a brief ceremony on Friday, November 14th, Fonda-Fultonville senior Josh Nethaway signed a letter of intent to play baseball with the SUNY Albany Great Danes.

A standout athlete and scholar, Joshmade the commitment flanked by his mother and father, MaryJo and Tom Nethaway, F-F High School Principal David Halloran, F-F Baseball Coach Rick Palumbo, and F-F Athletic Director Alex Mancini.

Josh has been a familiar face to Braves fans over the past four years. He has been the starting catcher for the baseball team since his freshman year and has started varsity basketball and football for three years. He earned All-State honors in baseball and was just named Capital 9 News' Class C Football Player of the Year.

"Fonda-Fultonville School has been really good to me," he said after the signing his letter. "My fellow students are courteous. The coaching is excellent and my teammates are like family; they're my best friends."

Mr. Mancini praised Josh saying, "He is a model school athlete; a three-sport athlete and an outstanding student. He is the whole package. He is a great role model for younger players."

Nethaway selected Dunkin' Donuts Player of the Week

Add another honor to Josh's list of accomplishments. He was selected Channel 13's Dunkin' Donuts Player of the Week on January 6th. Josh has been more than football, basketball, and baseball standout, he is a role model for other athletes who want to excel. Josh signed a letter of intent to attend SUNY Albany and play baseball this fall.  Watch the Channel 13 video.
