Mrs. Robin Murray, Secretary

While you are a student at Fonda-Fultonville High School, it is important for you to give some thought to your direction and individual goals. What you want to achieve in the future will, in most cases, determine the courses and activities you choose while in high school. The selection of courses should be carefully thought out from year to year, giving consideration to your interests, abilities, and future plans.

Why visit a guidance counselor?

Your counselor is one person who can help you sort out all possibilities and aid you in making both educational and career decisions. There is extensive information in the guidance office and library to aid you in your decision making process. Discover, our computerized information system, has added an extra dimension to choosing careers and/or post high school training. The Discover Computer is located in the high school library.

No matter what you want to do in the future, you need to continually check your progress toward graduation and achievement of your goals. Your counselor is here to help you with that process.

Here is a guideline for times when you should see your counselor.

  • If you have problems that you would like to talk about confidentially.

  • If you wish information concerning application requirements for colleges, nursing schools, trade and vocational schools, business colleges.

  • If you need help in selecting courses which will provide you with the background to meet requirements for further academic study or vocational/occupational career choices.

  • If you need an explanation of standardized testing results.

Thinking about playing a varsity sport in college?

Attention all students interested in playing a varsity sport in college - check out the NCAA eligibility rules to make sure you are taking the right classes! The checklist includes the courses you need to have taken, the scores you need on your SAT or ACT exams, and your minimum Grade Point Average. If you are a senior and are planning on playing a sport in college, it's time to register for the NCAA Clearinghouse.

Take a look at regional colleges when they visit FFHS

Each year, representatives from numerous regional colleges visit Fonda-Fultonville High School. Check out the college visitation schedule. If you find one you like, get a pre-signed pass from the Guidance Office to meet with a representative.

Don't miss your opportunity to apply for scholarships

Study for you SATs using SAT Method

Students at F-F High School now have access to SAT Method, a web-based test preparation program. All juniors will be assigned a username and password, and will take part in a program orientation during their English classes. The program can be utilized from any computer with Internet access. If students other than juniors would like to use the program, a username and password can be obtained in the H.S. Guidance Office. To access the program visit http://www.satmethod.com.
