District accepting applications for UPK
Fonda-Fultonville Central School is now
accepting applications for its 2009-10 Universal Pre-Kindergarten program.
UPK is open to all district children who are 4 years old on or
before December 1, 2009, and also who are completely
potty-trained in September. Applications must be received by 1
p.m., May 8, 2009. Please mail or hand deliver applications to:
Fonda-Fultonville Central School District, Superintendent’s
Office, 112 Old Johnstown Road, P.O. Box 1501, Fonda, New York
12068.
UPK is a structured
program taught by Kristin Wieczenski that academically and socially prepares children for
kindergarten. UPK is open to all, regardless of income or need.
The class has 36 openings, 18 in the morning
session and 18 in the afternoon session. If the district
receives more than 36 applicants for the program or more than 18
applications for either session, names will be entered into a
lottery on May 20, 2009. If space is available, applicants after
the May 8 deadline will be assigned to a session. If the program
is full, late applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
