photo of presenters and staffKiwanis present books to preschoolers

How do you instill a love a reading in a student? Research indicates that you expose them to reading at an early age.

On April 2nd the Kiwanis Club of Fonda-Fultonville did its part to help youngsters on the road to reading as as they presented reading packets to preschoolers attending the Fulmont HeadStart program. The packets included a nursery rhyme book or other book suitable for children ages birth to five years, a bookmark, a pamphlet about the Frothingham Free Library, and a fact sheet on the value of reading to your preschool child.

Club president Sally Ochampaugh gave each a child a a packet as part of the New York District Kiwanis Project "Catch a Child's Dream, Read to Your Child."
