Kiwanis
present books to preschoolers
How do you instill a love a reading in a student? Research
indicates that you expose them to reading at an early age.
On April 2nd the Kiwanis Club of Fonda-Fultonville did its part
to help youngsters on the road to reading as as they presented
reading packets to preschoolers attending the Fulmont HeadStart
program. The packets included a nursery rhyme book or other book
suitable for children ages birth to five years, a bookmark, a
pamphlet about the Frothingham Free Library, and a fact sheet on
the value of reading to your preschool child.
Club president Sally Ochampaugh gave each a child a a packet as
part of the New York District Kiwanis Project "Catch a Child's
Dream, Read to Your Child."
