Future Plans for Special Education Space
Special Education Classroom Space

In the future we will continue to ensure that the special education class space is in appropriate settings. We will educate our special education students in general education classes to the maximum extent practicable. Special education classes will be located in close proximity to general education classes serving similar age students. Even though we are providing more push-in/consultant teaching special education services, we will continue to provide our special education teachers with classroom space so that they can pull-out students for instruction as needed for the benefit of the students. Our goal to provide each special education teacher with a 385 square foot room (approximately one-half of a standard sized classroom) or larger has been achieved.

The district will also continue to provide adequate space for related service providers such as speech teachers and physical therapists. They currently have rooms that are approximately one-half of a standard sized classroom.
In the event that the District has available space, we will encourage the Board of Education and HFM BOCES to use the additional classrooms to house HFM BOCES special education classes here on the FFCS campus.
