Services for Students and Special Education Programs
Regular Education
Accommodations
<back
1) Preschool Age Children
By law when appropriate the CPSE is required to place preschool
children in regular education settings such as nursery or regular
education preschools. These schools are required to accommodate
the disabled children’s needs. For example, they must provide
sufficient ramping so that a child in a wheelchair can access the
school building. The County pays for any special education
services needed. (top)
2) School Age
Children
The law requires the District to educate students with special
needs in District general education classrooms to the greatest
extent possible (See
least
restrictive environment) The following are accommodations the
District makes for our students with special needs. These
modifications are specified on the students’ IEPs. (top)
