Chorus to appears on WMHT
Mrs. Vosburgh's Select Chorus, appeared for the second year in
a row in "Music for the Holidays." Public
television station WMHT sponsors the program which recognizes
talented choral groups in the Capital District. The F-F chorus
was one of 15 groups chosen out of 26 applicants based on an
audition tape. The chorus traveled to the WMHT studios in
Rensselaer on November 28 for a one-hour session in the
recording studio. This performance was broadcast on WMHT several
times in December.
Three earn music honors
Three F-F High School students were recently
honored for their music accomplishments.
F-F
Junior Megan Harrington has been selected to participate in this
year’s “Melodies of Christmas,” a musical benefit event for the
Children’s Cancer Research Center at Albany Medical Center. She
is one of 70 other students from the Capital Region selected
from a group of nearly 200 applicants for the honor. Megan will
perform in four shows at Proctor’s Theater. The performance will
be televised on WRGB on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Senior
band student Caitlin Blender and junior chorus student Jessica
Hopper were both selected to participate in the Zone 7 Area
All-State Music Festival, to be held at Saratoga Springs High
School on November 16 and 17. They were chosen based on their
performance in the New York State School Music Association
competition last year, as well as teacher recommendation.
