Operation American Braves
Following is the latest letter to Nancy Deitch from Senior
Airman Robert Crewell:
December 15, 2008
Ma'am,
It's good to hear from you, how is everything going?
Currently I am stationed at Whiteman AFB, MO where I work as an
Airfield Management Shift Leader. I am scheduled to deploy in
May but I have not received my orders yet. My last deployment
was great, I had the opportunity to work with our coalition
forces such as the Romanians and Australians so it was a blast.
As for the service, I just passed my 3 year mark and I love the
military so I'm leaning towards making a career out of it and
completing my 20 years for retirement. It's an awesome
experience and I get a lot of satisfaction in doing my job.
As for Iraqi's culture they put a lot of emphasis on religion
and family. All the Iraqi's I had a chance to work with would
talk about their families a lot. They live with their parents
and siblings all their life. It was also common for Iraqi's to
have more than one wife. One thing for sure is they are hard
workers.
The only person we have deployed currently is in Guam.
Unfortunately my supervisor is deploying on Dec 23rd, so I could
forward you her address once she gets there.
My current address is 610 Elm St, Knob Noster, MO, 65336.
Happy Holidays!
SrA Robert Crewell
